Picture Monday

What up?
Dad... quit putting things on my head!!!!! (RIP little bunny)
Hi Lolli!

PASSED!

Yes ladies and gents I passed my Property and Casualty licensing exam, it was touch and go there for a bit, but I pulled through and passed. I was so relieved when my results flashed up on the screen and I am sure I was grinning from ear to ear when I was checking out with the proctor. Poor girl behind me was not so successful as I could tell from the red eyes and tears, I felt so bad for her. Now I just want to go home and nap, but no such luck I had to come work. Eric and I are both tired after our day with Miss Sophia yesterday. Miss thing is teething ..... enough said! She was so fussy all day (even after baby orajel and teething tablets) and this type of environment was not very conducive to studying or Eric's studying for FF (yes they sell magazines and study guides). The baby was on rotation from one rainforest of talking birds and monkeys to another... the bouncy, to the swing, to the jumperoo, to the floor mat, to the crib. Finally Eric gave up and headed to the store, she fell asleep on his way home but woke up 2 minutes after arriving home.... of course. So naturally we were worried that come bedtime we could be in for a long night, thankfully though she went down without fight or should I say passed out taking her bottle and slept the whole night through. I of course did not and checked on her a few times when she made her little peeps and other questionable baby noises. Will this ever end????
Oh what a relief all the classes and test are over with.... and now mama can look forward to happy hour with the girls tomorrow night at Primos.

TGIF!!!!!

We have an awesome weekend (with the exception of Sunday) planned and I can't wait for it to be 4:30 (or 4:25 in real time, but the clocks at work are 5 minutes fast... shh don't tell).
Friday - Tonight we are going to the Cowboy's game thanks to my bosses and I can't wait to see my man... I mean Tony Romo. My cute little jersey is all pressed and ready to be worn tonight, oh and it is the real thing none of this pink crap. Don't get me wrong I LOVE pink but you can't be a true fan wearing a pink jersey when the colors are blue and silver... uh uh not cool and just not acceptable.
Saturday - Then tomorrow Dad is watching Sophia while Mom travels far north to Den-ton to attend the Alpha Phi bid day. It has been years since I have been back and I am pumped to go with Kate, Beth S. and Erica and hopefully see some other old... scratch that...familiar faces. :) We have been very, very bad alumnae with the exception of Erica who is still active. Us other 3 though yeah we had to dig in the attic and dust off the moth balls in order to find our block letter shirts. After bid day we will of course be stopping off at our old stomping ground, because it would just be wrong not to. Oh and I mean the bars not the school.
Saturday night - That night we plan to just chill at home and watch a movie and I will be studying I am sure.
Sunday - I will be studying all day... don't be jealous.

DOC Band - Update

So we had our evaluation appointment yesterday with Star Cranial of Children's Hospital. Our doctor originally referred us to Cranial Technologies but after finding out they did not take our insurance and speaking with a coworker who is currently using Star Cranial we decided to go with them. The doctor was great and could tell from the moment we walked in the exam room that Sophia does in fact have plagiocephaly (flat head). The minimum degree of coverage and treatment is a 6 and Sophia's head is a 10.3, the average they treat is a 12 - 14. Based on this and the fact that she was a preemie and has torticollis (tightening of the neck muscles to where she favors to lean or look in one direction) the doctor thinks there should be no issues in UHC covering which is a huge relief to us. Of course we would get the helmet regardless but that would be quite a financial burden when we are still paying off all the other medical bills. So now it is just a waiting game, they said UHC can take anywhere from 2 - 4 weeks to approve, so once we find out UHC has the paperwork which should be by Monday or Tuesday, Eric plans to start calling daily. The quicker we can get the helmet the shorter amount of time she will have to wear it. The doctor is estimating anywhere from 2 - 3 months, but we definitely can't take the helmet off until the torticollis is under control. We have seen a huge difference though and know she will only improve, especially with her now rolling and sleeping on her belly.
We think we are going to order a pink helmet and then have it painted, so give me some ideas if you have any.

Catch up

OK so it's been a while so there will probably be multiple post mainly with pics because that's what we do. I never realized how many pictures we really had until I went to Walgreen's last week to have some printed for Sophia's daycare project. On 2 disc we had over a 1,000 photos..... holy cow... how is that possible. It's sad when the Walgreen checker lady even said something and I only printed about 200, but we do love our baby girl and taking photos of all her adorable faces.
So a rundown of what's happening:
*I have been in insurance classes all week again and take my test Monday.
*Sophia is loving her peas and sweet potatoes, we have stopped cereal after trying multiple times and she still gags when we try to feed it to her. The peas though she can't get enough of!
*Her Halloween costume arrived, this is the second costume I have purchased, but I am confident this is the one. No clue why I stress about a costume that she will never remember but it is her first costume and you only have one first. :)
*New trick or flavor of the week is Sophia is close to sitting up on her own.
*Oh yeah Eric... what's new with him....let me think........ oh just losing sleep in anticipation of fantasy football Friday.

Lolli and Pops weekend with Sophia
Blowing bubbles......

Just chillin and being my diva self.
My smiley, happy girl! This is what I get to enjoy every morning..... life does not get any better than this!

Bachelors, tubes and rolling baby

This is what this past weekend had in store for us and oh did we have a fantastic time! For a full recap of our weekend in Austin check out Kat's blog, because of course there is no way I can top the humor and she definitely hit all the highlights.
Here are some pictures from the weekend!

Us ladies with hotter than crap Brad the Bachelor and Jeremy from the Bachelorette. Both of these guys were genuinely nice and were very cool with us imposing on them for a picture op!

All of us ladies looking hawt and feeling hot too! I think it might have been cooler outside Iron Cactus than in!

Some of the boys giving a group hug!

Chillin on the river, why does Katherine look so pissed?

The other big news from this weekend was Miss Sophia, rolled from back to belly to back again and she can't be stopped! No more leaving her on the couch, bed, etc. because she is a girl on the move. Of course she had to do it while we were out of town, but I am happy that Lolli and Pops were there to catch the action (as soon as Lolli uploads the video I will post).

Tag I am it!

Here are the rules:

1. Link back to the person that tagged you- DONE - Katastrophies
2. Mention the rules on your blog- Yeah, that’s what these are.
3. Tell about 6 unspectacular quirks of yours- See below

4. Tag 6 fellow bloggers by linking them-

* http://www.ihategreenbeans.com/
* Matt, Liz and Madeline
* Baby bargains
* Bludoor Studios

5. Leave a comment for each tagged blogger, to let them know they have been tagged.

*Gigi's Facts/Quirks*

1. APPEARANCE: I have really blue eyes and I am often asked if I am wearing colored contacts.

2. CAREER: I am a bean counter, but crunching numbers is what I love to do! Though getting into the insurance industry is looking more and more appealing.

3. FAMILY: I have a wonderful husband, beautiful baby girl and a precious puppy (I know she is almost 4 but she will always be a puppy to me). I feel truly blessed to have all three in my life and even more blessed to have such a wonderful, supportive extended family. I am one lucky girl and count my blessings everyday!

4. TOTALLY RANDOM: I can cross my pinkie toes over my second to last toe. Actually when I don't have shoes on and I am just chilling I cross my toes constantly and don't even realize I am doing it. I know freak right????

5. WHAT ELSE, YOU ASK? I hate all nuts and fruit mixed with other things, but I love sushi.

6. AND FINALLY: I am going to be 30 in a few months (yeah me bringing this up will probably be a constant theme... so get use to it, love it and embrace it), but I still feel like a early 20 something, but hey that is the key to life right. Like my mama always said stay young at heart! (I have no idea why this is bold, it's not done for a dramatic purpose and it will not let me fix it........... oh maybe I should have added that I am a little technically challenged or more so that I do not have the patience... yeah that is it I am sure)

Awesomeness

That is one word to describe this weekend! It started out Friday night when Tawna and I went to the John Mayer concert. Even though it was hotter than crap and we had lawn seats, we had a great time. John sounded fabulous and the only bummers was the traffic, our scary drive down MLK Blvd. and he didn't play one of Tawna's favorite songs. I was a happy camper though because he played my fav, Georgia Why.
Then Saturday momma got a cute new hair do and while this was happening Dad went shopping with Sophia. On their little shopping spree he bought Sophia her first Cowboys jersey. It's a little big but she looks so cute in it and we had to model the jersey when we got home. That night we went to see Dark Night at the Studio Movie Grill and Sophia hung out with Nana and Papa. The movie was awesome and definitely lived up to all the hype. Eric's parents said she was a little angel and had a great time watching a movie with them.
Sunday, we took our weekly trip to BRU for formula and ended up with a jogging stroller because of the big sale they were having. Eric and I plan to get back into running 5Ks this fall and plan to run with Sophia, we just hope she enjoys them as much as we do!
The big finale to the weekend was trying our first solid food, some oh so yummy cereal (Eric and I both tasted and it is nasty). She ate quite a bit for her first time or so we think. Though it looks like a majority ended up on the bib and her face, but overall she did pretty good.
Here are some pictures to show all the awesomeness we had!

Not so sure about this........

Check out my bib!
Aren't I cute?
Blowing bubbles....... this is what I do best.
Or is looking cute what I do best?
