It is not a secret that I love all things cupcakes, so I was beyond thrilled when Aunt Kate gave Sophia this shirt (from Kitson might I add) for her birthday. I have been waiting patiently for Phia to grow into the shirt and it finally fits and will for a while which I am thrilled about. Once again she was not in a picture taking mood so I was only able to take a few before it became meltdown city. Eek I just love the shirt and the little pink jean skirt from Aunt Tawna.

Backpack..... backpack
Do you have a little Dora stuck in your head now, ha so do I. Speaking of I am not a fan of Dora so annoying, though I do have to add I find most cartoons annoying. It sure is a good thing Sophia is not a fan either at least not yet, but our family loves us some Wonder Pets. Linny, Tuck and Ming Ming too... ok I will stop :)
So missy moo has officially moved up to the Toddler 2 room and with that change I thought it was time to ditch the diaper bag and instead get Sophia a cute toddler backpack. She loves it and as soon as I brought the backpack in the house she had to try it on, she would not even give me a chance to adjust the straps. Such a funny girl!

Good times!
I know I have said before that a certain stage was the best but this age (almost 17 months) has really been the best so far. She is a walking sponge and I love to hear her say new words or mimic what we do. Of course we have our share of tantrums but two seconds later she has us laughing our booty off.
So what is going on in Sophia world? Well she recently cut all four molars, yeah that was a blast. At her 15 month appointment that was almost a month late (go ahead and sign me up for mother of the year :) the pedi said he thinks she will probably be done by Christmas, I think this is both good and bad but I would rather get this teething business over with and move on.
She is a babbling, talking, signing machine. Her words are not real clear but we know what she is trying to say, but then there are other times I look at Eric with the huh face and he has no clue either. The words used most or at least what I can understand are mama, dada, dog, ball, book, thank you and shoe. We also learned this last weekend that she has been signing please and we had no idea, we had to bust out the book daycare sent home so we could figure it out. Such a smart little cookie that girl is, we are so proud of her.
Sophia loves her books and will constantly bring a book to one of us, plop her booty on the floor and ask us to read, we are so happy the phase of eating the books is gone and she now loves to be read to. Her favorite book right now is "I love you through and through" and I love it too even though we have read the book over fifty times in the past week.
If we think this age is the best we can't wait for what lies ahead and when she really starts to use her words. I can only imagine what the little diva is going to come up with and say, I am sure she will be quite the entertainer.

Testing her boundaries every day, a constant battle of getting her
to sit down and her laughing at us.
