Eric's Birfday Weekend!

We had a lot of good times this past weekend minus the mild case of diarrhea Sophia had on Sunday, but overall no complaints.

*Friday Eric took off work and played golf with a friend of his from work. Erica was awesome and got them a hook up at her club, thanks again Erica!

*Saturday morning we ran the JDRF 5K and I did pretty darn good. My knees still hurt which we think is a result of being on bed rest for 4 months, but slowly but surely I am strengthening my muscles back to where they were. Then Saturday night we headed out to celebrate Eric's birthday with friends while Nana and Papa watched Sophia for the night. We had a blast eating dinner at Manny's and hanging out afterwards.

*Sunday we picked up Sophia then hung out at home. Eric watched football of course and yelled numerous times about how his team stinks. Poor guy can't catch a break this season! :(

Here are some pic's from the weekend!

Getting ready to run/ ride her first race!

Happy Anniversary Kate and Chad!

It is hard to believe it has already been a year since Kate and Chad were married and I wanted to take this moment to wish them both a very happy anniversary and to give Kate a wittle surprise! With the rush here and there at their reception there was not a moment to give my maid of honor toast and I thought it would be fitting to post here on this special day. So after a long wait Katherine here ya go!

“For those that don’t know me my name is Gigi and I have had the pleasure of knowing Katherine now for 10 years and I can honestly say I have never seen her this happy, or in love. That’s how I knew Chad was the one for her. The first time I saw them together, she was a different person. She was relaxed, happy and carefree. Chad has shown her how special she is and loved her unconditionally. I think we can all agree that Kat and Chad compliment each other perfectly; what with Kat’s witty sense of humor and Chad’s killer moves this match can’t be beat. Now hopefully Chad can teach Kat a move or two…….. only kidding. Seriously though I wish you both all the love and happiness life have to offer and that God will bless you both in this lifelong journey.

To Katherine it is a real honor to be able to stand by your side today as your Maid of Honor. I am deeply moved for even knowing you, and even more so that you would grant me this opportunity. You've been that one rare friend in my life who has always been there - with me, beside me...ever present...solid and dependable, forever seeing the lighter side, and providing me with perspective, as only you can. You will never know how grateful I am to have you in my life so thank you for your friendship and I love you with all my heart. “

Ugh... Allergies!

Poor baby girl, her allergies have been horrible, but you would never guess it with how happy she is. It seriously does not phase her one bit. When she went to the doctor last Friday for her 5 month shots they confirmed it was allergies and she is not sick, but we just wish her nose would clear up. We have tried everything nasal drops, suction, humidifier, vicks vapor plug ins....... wash, rinse, repeat. Ugh I just want them to go away already so mama can sleep through the night again. Yes I still get up about twice a night to check on her... Eric thinks I am a little neurotic.... ok maybe a lot. Oh and he thinks he is funny guy too by making fun of me. Since she has had two UTI's and her only symptom is fever I am constantly checking her temperature. When getting her ready for bed or changing her diaper or really at any random moment, Eric likes to yell to me in his Sophia voice "mom can you check my temp" ....... real funny!

No nap Sunday

This is Sophia's new motto! She apparently missed the memo that Sunday's are "lazzzy day" (shout out to old roomie Jess) and wanted no part of napping. This has become a pattern lately and the only thing we can guess is that she wants to spend as much time with us as possible because we are so cool. Yeah that has to be it because we are the coolest parents EVA! Needless to say even though it was a rough day on mom and dad we had a great weekend. It was a chill weekend, I worked out both days... go me, we had dinner with Kate and Chad Saturday night and I had my weekly trip to Target (my home away from home). Overall not too shabby if you ask me!

VMA's - Shame on you

So last night was the MTV VMA's and I am can say I am officially done - DUN - done with MTV award shows. Not only was the F-bomb dropped numerous times oh and their censorship "bleep" does not work so well, MTV decided to use the first 20 minutes to get up on their political pulpit. I am still left puzzled how they thought saying George Bush was "retarded" was going to sway my vote to the democratic side but it truly was pathetic. I hold nothing against those that vote democratic, but to literally go on and on and say how stupid and ignorant republicans are showed such lousy character on the part of the democrats. One highlight of the night was when Jordan Sparks called the host out for making fun of those who wear promise rings... kudos to her for letting him know not everyone wants to be a slut! So MTV I want those 2 precious hours of my night back!

90210 baby!!!!

So back in the day I was the biggest 90210 fan, I swear I have probably seen every episode at least 5 times. I know I drove my parents crazy and maybe a few roommates too watching re-run after re-run..... I was addicted. So imagine my excitement when I heard they were bringing back the show with a new generation plus some old familiar faces. I must admit though I was a little nervous about how they would piece everything together, but the writers did a great job. The quirky little puns here and there were great especially the reference to Andrea's daughter Hannah and looking like a 30 year old. LOVED it and I did seriously LOL. I am definitely a fan of the new cast and will be tuning in every week, but that is no shock since I do watch 90% of all the other teenybopper shows. What can I say, I am a sucker for teen drama. :) Now all they need to do is bring back my Donna Martin and life will be complete!

Oh happy day

One year ago today our lives forever changed with one little digital test showing the bold words PREGNANT. I can still remember the emotions and thoughts, we were nervous, excited and scared all at the same time. The past year has been tougher than I ever imagined and with out the power of prayer I don't think we ever would have made it, so here is a huge thanks to all our friends and family for praying right along with us. We have been blessed more than we could have ever hoped for and are so grateful for our precious girl!

Happy 5 month birthday baby g!
